Pantone's Color of the Year - 2017
Drum roll please…. Pantone has announced the 2017 color of the year, and it is Greenery 15-0343!
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, provides some insight into this unique selection, noting that “Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”
This color selection is a marked change from previous Pantone colors of the years, which usually are in the blue and red families. The color combinations Greenery melds with are endless, from fun and bright to dramatic blues and purples to mellow and subdued. And, in your wedding, actual greenery that you can use includes many types of ferns, grass, leaves, moss, and eucalyptus.
If you’re wanting to incorporate the 2017 color of the year into your next event, below are some ideas to bring it to life.

When thinking of ceremony arches or aisle décor, flowers usually come to mind. However, discuss with your florist incorporating foliage, as evidenced by this beautiful picture of a greenery inspired ceremony location. Using in-season greenery will also be a cost-savings than in bloom flowers.

Using greenery instead of flowers also extends into the bouquets. The picture below demonstrates how variating the greenery and foliage can create a stunning bouquet.

Bright green bridesmaid dresses may seem overpowering for the color scheme, however, these ladies show how a subtle variation in greens for the dresses lends itself to a beautiful palette and looks striking in pictures.

Other ideas can extend to your invitation suite's color-scheme, to using moss covered objects (like lanterns or initial props) into your space's décor, or even creating a succulent wall as a focal point!
